Welcome to Kumar Appaiah's page!

The contents of this page are temporary, and they will be updated at a later time.

Debian rules!I belong to Chennai (Madras). I was born in Vellore  (North Arcot district, Tamil Nadu). I completed my undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras, and am now a graduate student of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin.

My first and foremost hobby is learning computing. I am trying to get a firm grasp on GNU/Linux and related free software, for I firmly believe in Free software. I have not yet graduated to the stage of being able to write or contribute as much as I would want to free (and open-source) software, although I try to popularize useful FOSS applications among my friends by dispelling myths and apprehensions about free and open source software, while also submitting the odd patch or two to software I use. I recently became a Debian developer, and help out in maintaining packages, and try to help in fixing bugs as well, from time-to-time.

Please note that I am in the process of shifting to a new GPG key. Please refer to my GPG key transition statement for details.

Finally, an acknowledgement for the style of this page. It is directly adapted from the stylesheets used by Petr Baudis for the Git home page and Jonas Fonseca for the elinks home page. Thanks to them for making this available. The rounded corners were made based on Spiffy Corners' Rounded CSS Corners.
