Release Requirement for Debian GNU/Linux 2.1
Regular Goals
These are regular goals. They can't delay any particular release. Some of them are project goals that have nothing to do with the release itself.
- Package most recent versions of software where possible.
- Fix all known security problems before the release.
- Make it a small, incremental release. Make the primary thing to strive for the ability to keep a deadline. (liw)
- Developer controlled automatic archive maintenance. Removal of
packages automatically after GPG signed email with list of
packages to delete. (mmitchell)
It's not clear if this will be accepted, I don't think so. (joey)
- Lintian check by default at end of dpkg-buildpackage (mmitchell)
