Joey's Tools: Debian Weekly News
This program, written by Thomas Bliesener, will add multibyte characters for foreign names to an issue of DWN. It needs to be updated frequently.
This program, executed inside of the issue directory, will upload a new issue of DWN but take care of recent changes and their history. This way it is possible to preserver all changes and credits since the preview of DWN.
This tool, developed by the web team of Debian, or mostly Joey Hess, who also started writing up DWN, reads a compiled isue of DWN and reformats it for distribution via mail. This is the program that extracts and moves the hyperlinks around which improved the readability a lot. There's also an internationalised version in the German directory.
This program is a frontend to the above tools and adds a particular issue of DWN to the Debian repository, compile it and distribute the issue via mail, by setting the proper mail headers like the encoding and the approved line.
This is a great tool, again written by Thomas Bliesener, that helps a lot with removing stupid systematic errors when writing DWN. Before I send out the preview I always run the current issue through this program to rub out the most stupid bugs.
This program connects to the LDAP frontend of the bugtracking system, investigates the list of orphaned packages (i.e. bugs against the pseudo-paket wnpp) and creates a list of the most recently orphaned packages which will be added to the next issue of DWN.
This programm inspects the list of most recently added packages and creates a list of them, which will be used as basis for the next issue of DWN.
