Qtopia

The Zaurus ships with Qtopia, a GUI environment based on the qt-embedded library. There is an SDK of some sort which appears to be free.

Opie

The Opie project is a fork of TrollTech's Qtopia, retaining backward compatibility for Qtopia software.

GPE

GPE is "a project whose aim is to provide a Free Software GUI environment for Palmtop/Handheld computers running the GNU/Linux operating system." According to Philip Blundell, they are building a uClibc-based variant of Debian/ARM. They seem to use GTK, which means that GPE may not run Qtopia applications.

Applications

There are many collections of free software for the Zaurus which could be packaged in Debian format.

Zaurus Utilities

Things like sdmgr (manages automatic mounting/unmounting of SD cards).
