Initial Development

Initial development summarised by three words:  “optimise, optimise, optimise.”

A lot of time was spent in squeezing every last erg from the software, to get the maximum number of sessions on a single server.

  Load testing
  Profile, optimise, profile
  IP address map replaced the pseudo-MAC addresses
  TUN/TAP device rather than deprecated Ethertap
  Superfluous newlines dropped, variable names shortened...
