The latest version of Macaulay2 should become available in Debian unstable and testing shortly after release. However, the versions in Debian stable and oldstable are not updated.
To obtain the latest version of Macaulay2 on these systems, follow the directions below. Packages are available for the amd64 (most modern systems), armhf (32-bit Raspberry Pi), and arm64 (64-bit ARM) architectures.
As root, add the following to /etc/apt/sources.list
:
deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/debian-keyring.gpg] https://people.debian.org/~dtorrance/debian bookworm/Then run:
sudo apt update sudo apt install macaulay2
As root, add the following to /etc/apt/sources.list
:
deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/debian-maintainers.gpg] https://people.debian.org/~dtorrance/debian bullseye/Then run:
sudo apt update sudo apt install macaulay2
If you get an error of the form "Certificate verification
failed: The certificate is NOT trusted. The certificate issuer
is unknown. Could not handshake: Error in the certificate
verification." after running sudo apt update
, then
try running sudo apt install ca-certificates
.
