Anbei die derzeit im Debian-CVS aktuelle Version des englischsprachigen
Originals und der derzeitige Stand der Übersetzung aus dem Alioth-CVS.

Korrekturvorschläge (diff -u) bitte bis ca. 15 Uhr MESZ am morgigen
Mittwoch, den 04. Mai, an mich oder direkt ins Alioth-CVS. Ich werde
zusehen, jede Einreichung mittels einer kurzen Mailantwort zu
bestätigen, nach Möglichkeit mit einer Art Protokoll über übernommene
und abgelehnte Änderungen mitsamt Begründung.
Sobald ich mit dem Abarbeiten der Korrekturvorschläge durch bin, werde
ich Gerfried eine kurze Statusmeldung senden, auf dass er den Versand
des Newsletters ankurbeln kann, und die jüngste Version ins Debian-CVS
einpflegen. Alles, was danach noch eintreffen mag, werde ich dann
direkt ins Debian-CVS einarbeiten, aber es wird wohl nicht mehr für
den Versand berücksichtigt werden können.


Ein paar kurze Worte in Richtung der neuen tapferen Mitstreiter, da
sich anscheinen ein paar Unklarheiten aufgetan hatten. Dies ist längst
nicht für jeden relevant, aber wer mag:

Falls Ihr einen Verbesserungsvorschlag habt, so ändert bitte den
vorhandenen Text direkt nach Euren Wünschen ab und sendet mir dann das
resultierende diff. Einen Kommentar irgendwie einzuschieben, wie Ihr
den Text gerne abgeändert hättet, ist zwar ebenfalls verständlich,
aber weniger gut abzuarbeiten. Ergo...

Kommentare brauchen normalerweise lediglich dann eingefügt zu werden,
wenn der Text oder etwaige Änderungen sich nicht selbst erklären.
Kommentare sollten bitte in eine neue, eigene Zeile eingefügt werden.


Achtet beim Abändern darauf, so wenige Zeilenumbrüche wie möglich,
aber so viele wie notwendig abzuändern, so dass der diff gut lesbar
bleibt. Also keine wilden Neuformatierungsorgien feiern, sondern z.B.
lieber eine nicht gänzlich gefüllte Zeile einfügen. Whitespace ist
hier minder relevant. Ergo...

Apropos Zeilenumbrüche: so manches diff wurde schon vom entsprechenden
Mailprogramm des Einreichers neu gestaltet. Achtet bitte darauf, daß
Euer MUA diese Teile nicht umformatiert.


Wenn Ihr etwas übersetzt habt, dann habt ruhig keine Scheu, auch Euren
Namen unter »translator« gleich einzutragen. Derart könnt Ihr
sicherstellen, daß ich es nicht vergessen werde. (Hinweis: »editor«
sind diejenigen, welche die Originaltexte geliefert haben.)


Sollte es mal dazu kommen, daß Ihr erst relativ spät die Übersetzung
korrekturlesen wollt, so prüft bitte vorher, ob nicht etwa mittlerweile
im CVS eine neuere Version als die per Mail verschickte vorhanden ist,
und überprüft gegebenenfalls eben diese.
Etwaige Hinweise zur Verwendung von CVS (und auch diff etc.) erteile
ich bei Bedarf gerne per Mail.


Falls Ihr mal verhindert seid, so ist es wirklich nicht notwendig,
Euch extra bei mir abzumelden. Ich freue mich über jede helfende Hand
und über jedes kontrollierende Auge, aber fühlt Euch bitte nicht in
eine Pflicht genommen. Macht Euch keinen unnötigen Stress. :)

<p>Willkommen zu der 18. Ausgabe der DWN in diesem Jahr, dem wöchentlichen
Newsletter der Debian-Gemeinschaft. Als Hinweis auf eine funktionierende
testing-Queue wurde das erste Paket direkt nach Testing <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-testing-changes/2005/05/msg00000.html";>\
# FE: hm, r1.5 Debian-CVS moppelt doppelt, ich schreib Joey mal...
hochgeladen</a>. Viele Menschen sind darüber erfreut, dass die <a
href="http://ftp-master.debian.org/new.html";>NEW</a>-Queue
wieder bearbeitet wird. Jedoch
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-project/2005/04/msg00380.html";>\
schlug</a> Anand Kumria vor, Pakete an den
<a href="$(HOME)/devel/tech-ctte">Technischen Ausschuss</a> zu verweisen,
wenn eine Entscheidung nicht innerhalb von zwei Monaten getroffen würde.</p>

<p><strong>Treffen des Leitungsteams.</strong> Andreas Schuldei gab das
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-project/2005/04/msg00401.html";>\
Protokoll</a> des Leitungsteam-Treffens der letzten Woche bekannt, in dem er zum
Sekretär ernannt wurde. Themen, die während des Treffens diskutiert wurden,
seien die Kontaktadresse, Finanzierung, insbesondere zur Teilnahme an der
<a href="http://dot.kde.org/1111445162/";>aKademy 2005</a>, und ein neuer
Name gewesen. Zusätzlich sei Benjamin Hill eingeladen worden,
dem Team beizutreten.</p>

<p><strong>Umgang mit PHP-Anwendungs-Design-Mängeln.</strong> Martin Schulze
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-security/2005/04/msg00103.html";>\
erkundigte</a> sich nach PHP-Anwendungen, die Include-Dateien, die Ausgaben
erzeugen,
im Web-Verzeichnis hätten. Auf solche Dateien könne mittels HTTP zugegriffen
werden und diese seien für Site-übergreifende Skript-<a
href="http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CAN-2005-0870";>\
Angriffe</a> oder <a
href="http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CAN-2005-0459";>\
Informationsenthüllung</a> unabsichtlich anfällig. Henrique Holschuh
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-security/2005/04/msg00106.html";>\
ergänzte</a>, dass Konfigurationsdateien in <code>/etc</code> liegen und
nicht von außerhalb zugreifbar sein sollten.</p>

<p><strong>Sarge-Veröffentlichung: Aktualisierung.</strong> Andreas Barth
schickte einen weiteren <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2005/04/msg00023.html";>\
Statusbericht</a> über die Sarge-Veröffentlichung ein. Die Infrastruktur für
testing-security sei mehr oder weniger eingerichtet und zwei neue ARM-buildds
# FE: »all packages in sarge need to build from source« evtl. besser? aber wie?
seien hinzugefügt worden. Er erwähnte explizit, dass alle Pakete in Sarge aus
den Quellen erzeugt werden müssten. Er bat auch darum, größere Änderungen nicht
nach Unstable hochzuladen, wenn diese Probleme in Sarge verursachen könnten.</p>

<p><strong>Debian-Administrations-Webauftritt.</strong> Steve Kemp
sandte eine <a href="http://www.debian-administration.org/?article=131";>\
Aktualisierung</a> seines Debian-Administrations-\
<a href="http://www.debian-administration.org/";>Webauftritts</a> ein. Die Präsenz 
habe etwa 2500 Artikelabfragen pro Tag. Einige der ursprünglich auf Englisch
erschienenen Tipps und Tricks über die Betreuung von Debian-Rechnern
seien auch ins <a href="http://www.debianusers.pl/";>Polnische</a> und
<a href="http://www.debian-tr.org/";>Türkische</a> übersetzt worden.
Der Auftritt werde auch für <acronym title="Resource Description Framework">\
RDF</acronym>-Benutzer
<a href="http://www.debian-administration.org/?about=Syndication";>\
angeboten</a>.</p>

<p><strong>Aktualisierung zur Debian-Konferenz.</strong> Andreas Schuldei
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2005/04/msg00022.html";>\
kündigte</a> die endgültige Vortragsliste für die kommende Konferenz an und
berichtete, dass Debian mehr als 100.000&euro; an Spenden erhalten habe. Als
eine Neuheit werde das Debian-Team dieses Jahr einen Tag vor der Konferenz
Debian den Einheimischen vorstellen. Er ermutigte die Teilnehmer dazu, das
Treffen zur Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Entwicklern von Angesicht zu Angesicht
zu nutzen.</p>

<p><strong>Richtlinie für Scheme-Implementierungen.</strong> Jorgen Schäfer
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2005/04/msg01000.html";>\
berichtete</a>, dass der <a href="http://srfi.schemers.org/";>Scheme
Requests for Implementation</a>-(Scheme-Antrag zwecks
Implementierung)-Prozess versucht, Interpreter-Namen für Scheme-Skripte
zu <a href="http://srfi.schemers.org/srfi-22/srfi-22.html";>\
standardisieren</a>.  Da dies einen Namenskonflikt auslöse, falls zwei
Implementierungen von Scheme beide dieses Schema unterstützen wollen,
schlug er eine <a
href="http://people.debian.org/~forcer/debian-scheme-policy/debian-scheme-policy.html/";>\
Scheme-Richtlinie</a> für Debian vor, die nach dem Interpreter-Namen
mittels <code>update-alternatives</code> fragt.</p>

<p><strong>Status von Debian.</strong> Die Linux Weekly News <a
href="http://lwn.net/Articles/132521/";>berichtete</a> über Bdale Garbees
Vortrag auf der diesjährigen <a href="$(HOME)/events/2005/0418-linuxconf">\
Mini-Konferenz</a> bei der Linux Conference Australia. Er erzählte über die
Art, wie die Leitung bei Debian funktioniere, und stellte das Projektleiterteam
(SCUD) vor.  Er brachte auch einen Vorschlag in Umlauf, den <a
href="$(HOME)/devel/leader">DPL</a> durch ein gewähltes Gremium zu ersetzen.
Hierfür müsste allerdings die <a
href="$(HOME)/devel/constitution">Verfassung</a> von Debian geändert werden.
Die Idee sei noch in einem Frühstadium und werde im Juli auf der diesjährigen
<a href="http://www.debconf.org/debconf5/";>Debian-Konferenz</a> in Helsinki,
Finnland, weiterdiskutiert.</p>

<p><strong>Langes Fehlerausmerzwochenende.</strong> Frank Lichtenheld <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2005/05/msg00000.html";>\
kündigte</a> das Fehlerausmerzwochenende vom 5. Mai bis zum 8. Mai an.
Es werde am Donnerstag starten, da dies in vielen Ländern ein
Feiertag sei. Nachdem scheinbar alle Freeze-Blocker aus dem Weg geräumt
worden seien, werde
es Zeit, an den verbleibenden Veröffentlichungshindernissen zu arbeiten.
Er forderte die Entwickler dazu auf, neben den veröffentlichungskritischen
auch an mit »important«- und »security«-markierten Fehlern zu arbeiten.

<p><strong>Treffen des Veröffentlichungsteams.</strong> Andreas Barth sandte
ein <a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2005/05/msg00008.html";>\
Protokoll</a> des Treffens des Veröffentlichungsteams ein, in welchem die
Sarge-Veröffentlichung diskutiert worden sei. Sie seien zum Schluss gekommen, dass
der Freeze sofort in Kraft treten könne. Sobald das Archiv eingefroren sei,
werde das Veröffentlichungsteam Korrekturen für »important« und bedeutendere
Fehler, l10n und Dokumentationsaktualisierungen via Unstable akzeptieren.
Mittels testing-proposed-updates würden nur veröffentlichungskritische
Fehlerkorrekturen, l10n und Dokumentationsaktualisierungen akzeptiert.</p>

<p><strong>Web-Anwendungen in Debian.</strong> Nach einer <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-security/2005/04/msg00103.html";>\
Diskussion</a> zu PHP-Anwendungen und aufgrund der großen Anzahl von
Web-Anwendungs-Paketen <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2005/04/msg01144.html";>fragte</a>

Neil McGovern nach einer Mailingliste, um solche Themen zu besprechen.
Alexis Sukrieh würde es auch

<p>Welcome to this year's 18th issue of DWN, the weekly newsletter for the
Debian community.  As a hint of a working testing queue, the first package has
been <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-testing-changes/2005/05/msg00000.html";>\
uploaded</a> directly into testing.  Many people are pleased that the

processed again.  However, Anand Kumria <a

packages should be referred to the <a href="$(HOME)/devel/tech-ctte">technical
committee</a> when a decision had not been made within two months.</p>

<p><strong>Leadership Team Meeting.</strong> Andreas Schuldei sent in the <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-project/2005/04/msg00401.html";>minutes</a>
of the leadership team meeting last week in which he was appointed as
secretary.  Topics discussed during the meeting were a contact address,
funding, for attendance at <a href="http://dot.kde.org/1111445162/";>aKademy
2005</a> in particular and a new name.
Additionally they resolved to invite Benjamin Hill to join the team.</p>

<p><strong>Dealing with PHP Application Design Flaws.</strong> Martin Schulze
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-security/2005/04/msg00103.html";>\
asked</a> about PHP applications that have non-silent include files placed in
the web directory.  Such files are accessible via HTTP and can be used for
cross-site scripting <a
href="http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CAN-2005-0870";>\
attacks</a> or <a
href="http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CAN-2005-0459";>\
disclose</a> information unintendedly.  Henrique Holschuh <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-security/2005/04/msg00106.html";>added</a>
that configuration files should reside in <code>/etc</code> and not be
accessible from the outside.</p>

<p><strong>Sarge Release Update.</strong> Andreas Barth sent in another <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2005/04/msg00023.html";>\
status report</a> on the sarge release.  The infrastructure for
testing-security is more or less in place and two new ARM buildds have been
added.  He explicitly  noted that all packages in sarge need to build from
source.  He also asked for no uploads with major changes to unstable which
could cause problems in sarge.</p>

<p><strong>Debian Administration Website.</strong>  Steve Kemp
posted an <a href="http://www.debian-administration.org/?article=131";>update</a>

website</a>.  The site is now getting about 2,500 article views per day.  Some
of the tips and tricks about maintaining Debian computers that originally
appeared in English have also been translated into
<a href="http://www.debianusers.pl/";>Polish</a> and
<a href="http://www.debian-tr.org/";>Turkish</a>.
The site is also available to be
<a href="http://www.debian-administration.org/?about=Syndication";>syndicated</a>
for <acronym title="Resource Description Framework">RDF</acronym> users.</p>

<p><strong>Debian Conference Update.</strong> Andreas Schuldei <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2005/04/msg00022.html";>\
announced</a> the final list of talks for the upcoming conference and reported
that Debian has received more then &euro;&nbsp;100,000 as donations.  As a
novelty this year the Debian team will present Debian to the natives one day
before the conference.  He encouraged the attendees to use the meeting for
working together with other developers face to face.</p>

<p><strong>Policy for Scheme Implementations.</strong> Jorgen Sch&auml;fer <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2005/04/msg01000.html";>reported</a>
that the <a href="http://srfi.schemers.org/";>Scheme Requests for
Implementation</a> process is trying to <a
href="http://srfi.schemers.org/srfi-22/srfi-22.html";>standardise</a>
interpreter names for Scheme scripts.  Since this introduces a name conflict
if two implementations of Scheme both want to support this scheme he proposed
a <a
href="http://people.debian.org/~forcer/debian-scheme-policy/debian-scheme-policy.html/";>\
Scheme policy</a> for Debian that asks for the interpreter name to be managed
by <code>update-alternatives</code>.</p>

<p><strong>State of Debian.</strong> Linux Weekly News <a
href="http://lwn.net/Articles/132521/";>reported</a> on Bdale Garbee's talk at
this year's Debian <a href="$(HOME)/events/2005/0418-linuxconf">\
mini-conference</a> at Linux Conference Australia.  He talked about how
leadership works in Debian and introduced the project leadership team (SCUD).
He also floated a proposal to replace the <a
href="$(HOME)/devel/leader">DPL</a> with an elected board.  This would require
an amendment to the Debian <a href="$(HOME)/devel/constitution">\
constitution</a>, though.  The idea is still in the early stages, and will be
further discussed in July at this year's <a
href="http://www.debconf.org/debconf5/";>Debian Conference</a> in Helsinki,
Finland.</p>

<p><strong>Bug Squashing Long Weekend.</strong> Frank Lichtenheld <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2005/05/msg00000.html";>\
announced</a> the bug squashing weekend from May 5th to May, 8th.  It will
start on Thursday since in many countries this day is a holiday.
After all freeze blockers seem to be gone finally, it's time to work on the
remaining release blockers.  He asked developers to work on important and
security bugs as well, in addition to release-critical bugs.</p>

<p><strong>Release Team Meeting.</strong> Andreas Barth posted <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2005/05/msg00008.html";>minutes</a>
of release team meeting in which the sarge release was discussed.  They came
to the conclusion that the freeze can get into effect as of now.  When the
archive is frozen, the release team will accept corrections for important and
above bugs, l10n and documentation updates via unstable.  Via
testing-proposed-updates, only release-critical bug fixes, l10n and
documentation updates are accepted.</p>

<p><strong>Web Applications in Debian.</strong> After a <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-security/2005/04/msg00103.html";>\
discussion</a> on PHP applications and due to the large number of web
application packages Neil McGovern <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2005/04/msg01144.html";>asked</a>
for a mailing list to handle such topics.  Alexis Sukrieh would also <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2005/04/msg01147.html";>like</a> to
extend the <a href="$(HOME)/doc/debian-policy/">Debian Policy Manual</a> with
regards to web applications.  Pascal Hakim finally <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2005/05/msg00075.html";>created</a>
the <a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-webapps/";>list</a>.</p>
