# LTS/ELTS activities for October 2025

This is the summary of my LTS/ELTS activities for October 2025, under the
Freexian umbrella:

- [LTS/ELTS] Coordination work, including:
  - Handled hours management w/Roberto
  - Sync with Catalyst about fixes for Samba, as part of the Samba LTS project;
    triaging the two new CVEs. Catalyst backported the fixed for 4.17, that
    will be included in the next bookworm point release.
- [ELTS] qemu: Finished the work that was started last months, and released
  ELA-1540 and ELA-1564-1, for buster and stretch, respectively.
- [LTS/ELTS] firmware-nonfree: studied the current status and challenges to
  maintain this package. Collaborated with Tobias Frost to find possible
  solutions, and suggested a proposal to the kernel, security and lts teams.

- [ELTS] Provided Bastien with some feedback about dnsdist and squid
- [ELTS] Reviewed the situation about the i386 kernel package and announced the
  early EOL (when bookworm switches to ELTS) 
- [LTS/ELTS] pure-ftpd: Prepared the updates (that were finally released in
  November) for DLA 4360-1 and ELA-1566-1
