Original script used for lightning talks at debconf19, video is at https://meetings-archive.debian.net/Public/debian-meetings/2019/DebConf19/lightning-talks.webm Waiting for AM - how times have changed. A bit fun, bit philosophical drama about NM now and then. Actors: DD - an old DD, NM - an applicant Introduction: "We will do a little Drama about the NM process. Things like this happen, if you take too much of the graphviz license - and if you take the process both too serious and not serious enough. I will play an old DD and $X will play an applicant. That's totally what we are." (NM sits on the ground and seems to really enjoy reading of a textbook, DD comes along) DD: "What are you reading?" NM: "Debian policy." DD: "Why are you reading a printout of the Debian policy?" NM: "I'm in the NM process." DD: "Did you allready get an AM assigned?" NM: "Yes." DD: "How long did you wait?" NM: "Five." DD: "Five months, five years or what?" NM: "Five days." DD: "WHAT? Did you bribe someone?" NM: "No." DD: "Ok. And how is it going with you and your AM?" NM: "He is MIA." DD: "I see. How long is he MIA, is it a half year or more?" NM: "Two weeks." DD: "You should be rejected for being that impatient." NM: "Maybe, but after all, one is not rejected. Just the process is cancelled." DD: "Weird. Where is the punishment?" NM: "There is no punishment." (DD turns around to leave) DD: "Ah ok. What will you do now? Complain to FD?" NM: "No, I will wait for my AM." (DD comes back and sits on the ground next to NM) DD: "We can wait together." (DD reaches his arm towards NM, NM hands over Debian policy to him and they start reading it together) (DD shows a paper with the text "6 months later", NM and DD are playing around with toys) (AM comes with a big role of paper) AM: "I'm back. All you have to do now, is to answer this totally reasonable amount of questions." (throws the role to the floor in a way, that it unrolls itself and goes off) NM & DD: "WHAT!?"
