Moinmoin!

Anbei und gemixt die derzeit aktuelle Version des englischsprachigen
Originals und der derzeitige Stand der Übersetzung aus dem Alioth-CVS.
Ich bin spät dran, da ich mich dummerweise in der Zeit meiner
Abwesenheit von zuhause selber aus meinem Rechner ausgesperrt habe,
aber nur dort alle meine Daten liegen...

Korrekturvorschläge (diff -u) bitte bis ca. 22.30 Uhr MEZ am heutigen
Donnerstag, den 29. Dezember, an mich oder direkt ins Alioth-CVS.

Sobald ich mit dem Abarbeiten der Korrekturvorschläge durch bin, werde
ich den Newsletter auch gleich versenden und die jüngste Version ins
Debian-CVS einpflegen. Alles, was danach noch eintreffen mag, werde
ich dann direkt ins Debian-CVS einarbeiten, aber es wird wohl nicht
mehr für den Versand berücksichtigt werden können.

warf David Chisnall einen Blick auf die Kosten Freier Software in Relation
zu der Freiheit, die man durch die Verwendung Freier Software gewinnt.</p>

David Chisnall took a look at the cost of Free Software in connection to the
freedom people gain by using Free Software.</p>

<p><strong>Paket-Rückportierungen für Sarge.</strong> Norbert Tretkowski <a
href="http://www.inittab.de/blog/2005/12/16#20051216_sarge";>gab bekannt</a>,
dass <a href="http://www.backports.org/";>backports.org</a> 
endlich die derzeitige stabile Debian-<a
href="$(HOME)/releases/stable/">Veröffentlichung</a> mit dem Codenamen Sarge
unterstütze. Debian-Entwickler könnten ihre rückportierten Pakete in das Archiv
hochladen. Norbert stellte auch einige <a
href="http://www.backports.org/instructions.html";>Hinweise</a> zur Verwendung
von backports.org für die Endbenutzer und <a
href="http://lists.backports.org/lurker/message/20051207.140929.3a97ba5c.en.html";>\
Entwickler</a> bereit.</p>

<p><strong>Package Backports for Sarge.</strong> Norbert Tretkowski <a
href="http://www.inittab.de/blog/2005/12/16#20051216_sarge";>announced</a>
that <a href="http://www.backports.org/";>backports.org</a> eventually supports
the current stable Debian <a href="$(HOME)/releases/stable/">release</a>
code-named sarge.  Debian developers can upload their backported packages into the
archive.  Norbert also provided some <a
href="http://www.backports.org/instructions.html";>notes</a> on using
backports.org for end users and <a
href="http://lists.backports.org/lurker/message/20051207.140929.3a97ba5c.en.html";>\
developers</a>.</p>

<p><strong>Ein Interview mit dem Debian KDE-Team.</strong> Das <a
href="http://pkg-kde.alioth.debian.org/docs/people.html";>Debian KDE-Team</a>
wurde von <q>The people behind KDE</q> (<q>Die Leute hinter KDE</q>)
<a href="http://people.kde.nl/debian.html";>interviewt</a>, einer Seite,
die in die KDE-Gemeinschaft eingebundene Leute präsentieren möchte.
Das Interview beinhaltet technische Aspekte sowie einige persönliche
Fragen.</p>

<p><strong>The Debian KDE Team in an Interview.</strong> The <a
href="http://pkg-kde.alioth.debian.org/docs/people.html";>Debian KDE team</a> has been
<a href="http://people.kde.nl/debian.html";>interviewed</a> by "The people
behind KDE", a site that aims to present the people involved in the KDE
community. The interview features technical aspects as well as a some
personal questions.</p>

<p><strong>Status von Debian Unstable.</strong> Kamaraju Kusumanchi <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2005/12/msg00621.html";>begann</a>
eine Wiki-<a href="http://wiki.debian.org/StatusOfUnstable";>Seite</a>,
um aktuelle größere Aktualisierungsprobleme in Unstable zusammenzufassen
und den Benutzern Abhilfevorschläge zu unterbreiten. Ari Pollack gab
eine weitere Wiki-<a href="http://wiki.debian.org/TopicDebianDevel";>Seite</a>
<a href="http://www.livejournal.com/users/go_team_ari/11093.html";>bekannt</a>,
die das Topic des Kanals <q>#debian-devel</q> auf irc.debian.org verfolgt,
worüber eine hilfreiche Vorstellung davon vermittelt wird, was in <a
href="$(HOME)/releases/sid/">Sid</a> kaputt und was bereits behoben sei.
Er empfiehlt jedoch die Verwendung von apt-listbugs/apt-listchanges und
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce";>debian-devel-announce</a>.</p>

<p><strong>Status of Debian unstable.</strong> Kamaraju Kusumanchi <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2005/12/msg00621.html";>started</a>
a Wiki <a href="http://wiki.debian.org/StatusOfUnstable";>page</a>
to summarise up current major unstable upgrade issues and to give some
workarounds to users.  Ari Pollack <a
href="http://www.livejournal.com/users/go_team_ari/11093.html";>announced</a>
another Wiki <a href="http://wiki.debian.org/TopicDebianDevel";>page</a>
tracking the topic of the #debian-devel channel on irc.debian.org which
provides a useful idea of what is broken and what is fixed in <a
href="$(HOME)/releases/sid/">sid</a>.
However, he recommends the use of apt-listbugs/apt-listchanges and
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce";>debian-devel-announce</a>.</p>

<p><strong>Allgemeiner Rahmen zur Energieverwaltung.</strong> Kevin Locke
gab die Gründung eines Projektes zur Erstellung eines allgemeinen <a
href="http://powermgmt.alioth.debian.org/";>Rahmens</a> zur Energieverwaltung
für Debian <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2005/12/msg00044.html";>bekannt</a>.
Entwickler könnten auf Energie-bezogene Ereignisse unabhängig von
Architektur oder Daemon reagieren, indem sie ein einzelnes Skript für
den allgemeinen Ereignis-<q>Handler</q> installierten. Dieses Skript solle
ordnungsgemäß abgearbeitet werden, selbst wenn neue Energie-Systeme und
-Daemons erstellt würden, ohne dass der Entwickler es anpassen müsse.</p>

<p><strong>Common Power Management Framework.</strong> Kevin Locke <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2005/12/msg00044.html";>announced</a>
the creation of a project to create a common power-management <a
href="http://powermgmt.alioth.debian.org/";>framework</a> for Debian.
Developers will be able to respond to power-related events, regardless of
architecture or daemon by installing a single script for the common
event handler.  This script will be properly handled even as new power-systems
and daemons are created with no necessary changes from the developer.</p>

<p><strong>Übergang der <q>Hooks</q> bei Kernel-Paketen.</strong> Manoj Srivastava <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2005/12/msg00012.html";>\
warnte</a> vor neuen Versionen von <a
href="http://packages.debian.org/kernel-package";>kernel-package</a>, welche
möglicherweise Kernel-Binärpakete erzeugten, deren <code>postinst</code>-Skript
fehlschlage, obgleich der Kernel gut funktionierte. Dies sei eine Folge der
Umstellung auf <a href="http://packages.debian.org/debconf";>debconf</a> und
von Skripten, die ein interaktives Installationsskript erwarteten oder
Ausgaben erzeugten.</p>

<p><strong>Kernel Package Hooks Transition.</strong> Manoj Srivastava <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2005/12/msg00012.html";>\
warned</a> about new versions of <a
href="http://packages.debian.org/kernel-package";>kernel-package</a> which may
produce binary kernel packages whose <code>postinst</code> script fails, even
though the kernel will work fine.  This is a result of the conversion to <a
href="http://packages.debian.org/debconf";>debconf</a> and scripts that expect
an interactive installation script or produce output.</p>

<p><strong>Die Architekturen der nächsten Veröffentlichung.</strong> Steve

Veröffentlichungsteams (<q>Release Team</q>)</a> von Debian, gab das Ende

die <a href="$(HOME)/ports/amd64/">amd64</a>-Architektur unterstützt werden.</p>

<p><strong>Next Release Architectures.</strong> Steve Langasek, member of the
Debian <a href="http://release.debian.org/";>release team</a>, <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2005/12/msg00013.html";>\
announced</a> the end of the architecture requalification <a
href="http://release.debian.org/etch_arch_qualify.html";>phase</a>.  As an
outcome, the next stable Debian release called <a
href="$(HOME)/releases/etch/">etch</a> probably won't support the <a
href="$(HOME)/ports/arm/">arm</a>, <a href="$(HOME)/ports/m68k/">m68k</a>, <a
href="$(HOME)/ports/s390/">s390</a> and <a
href="$(HOME)/ports/sparc/">sparc</a> architectures.  However, it will support
the <a href="$(HOME)/ports/amd64/">amd64</a> architecture for the first time.</p>

<p><strong>Mozilla und Freunde basierend auf XULRunner?</strong> Mike Hommey <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2005/12/msg00082.html";>berichtete</a>
über seine Pläne, <a
href="http://wiki.mozilla.org/index.php/XUL:Xul_Runner";>xulrunner</a> zu
paketieren, welches die zentrale Engine für die gesamte zukünftige
Mozilla-Technik werden solle, was bedeutet, dass alle Mozilla-Produkte
(Firefox, Thunderbird, etc.) auf diesem basierend erstellt würden. Der
mittelfristige Plan sei es, die Anwendungen, die Mozilla als Plattform
nutzten (wie Epiphany, Galeon, Kazehakase, etc.) auf xulrunner zu migrieren.</p>

<p><strong>Mozilla and Friends based on XULRunner?</strong> Mike Hommey <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2005/12/msg00082.html";>reported</a>
about his plans to package <a
href="http://wiki.mozilla.org/index.php/XUL:Xul_Runner";>xulrunner</a>, which
ought to become the central engine for all future Mozilla technology, meaning
that all Mozilla products (firefox, thunderbird, etc.) will be built on top of
it.  The mid-term plan is to migrate the applications that use Mozilla as a
platform (such as epiphany, galeon, kazehakase, etc.) to xulrunner.</p>

<p><strong>Debian in München.</strong> Die Stadt München <a
href="http://www.muenchen.de/vip8/prod2/mde/_de/rubriken/Rathaus/40_dir/presse/2005/ru/246.pdf";>\
veröffentlichte</a> eine Aktualisierungsmeldung zu ihrer <a
href="http://www.muenchen.de/limux";>Migration</a> auf eine Debian-basierte
GNU/Linux-Lösung. Die aktuellen Schritte seien es, ihre Dokumentenverwaltung
auf eine OpenOffice-basierte Lösung zu migrieren, so dass sowohl die aktuellen
Windows-Klienten als auch die neuen GNU/Linux-Klienten es nutzen könnten. Sie
lieferten auch eine erste Testversion des Debian-basierten Klienten an die
Benutzer aus, um Rückmeldung zu erhalten. Die Administration der Klienten
basiert auf <a
href="http://www.informatik.uni-koeln.de/fai/";><abbr lang="en" title="Fully
Automatic Installation">FAI</abbr></a> (<q>Vollautomatische Installation</q>)
und GOsa (<q>Gonicus System Administrator</q>).</p>

<p><strong>Debian in Munich.</strong> The city of Munich <a
href="http://www.muenchen.de/vip8/prod2/mde/_de/rubriken/Rathaus/40_dir/presse/2005/ru/246.pdf";>\
published</a> an update about their <a
href="http://www.muenchen.de/limux";>migration</a> to a Debian-based GNU/Linux
solution.  The current steps are to migrate their document management to an
OpenOffice-based solution so that both the current windows clients and the new
GNU/Linux clients can use it. They also shipped the first test versions of the
Debian-based client to users in order to get feedback.  The client
administration is based on <a
href="http://www.informatik.uni-koeln.de/fai/";>FAI</a> (fully automatic
installation) and GOsa (Gonicus System Administrator).</p>
