Anbei und gemixt die derzeit aktuelle Version des englischsprachigen
Originals und der derzeitige Stand der Übersetzung aus dem Alioth-CVS.

Korrekturvorschläge (diff -u) bitte bis ca. 22.30 Uhr MEZ am heutigen
Mittwoch, den 01. März, an mich oder direkt ins Alioth-CVS.

Sobald ich mit dem Abarbeiten der Korrekturvorschläge durch bin, werde
ich den Newsletter auch gleich versenden und die jüngste Version ins
Debian-CVS einpflegen. Alles, was danach noch eintreffen mag, werde
ich dann direkt ins Debian-CVS einarbeiten, aber es wird wohl nicht
mehr für den Versand berücksichtigt werden können.

<p>Willkommen zur 9. Ausgabe der DWN in diesem Jahr, dem wöchentlichen
Newsletter der Debian-Gemeinschaft. Lars Wirzenius legte seine Kandidatur
zu den kommenden Projektleiterwahlen <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-vote/2006/02/msg00637.html";>\
nieder</a>, da es Aspekte und Teile des Projekts gebe, die er emotional
nicht bewältigen könne. In einem älteren
<a href="http://liw.iki.fi/liw/log/2006-02.html#20060206b";>Artikel</a>
untersuchte er bereits die Rolle des Projektleiters und kam zum Schluss, dass
das Wichtige sei zu inspirieren und nicht zu zwingen.</p>

<p>Welcome to this year's 9th issue of DWN, the weekly newsletter for the
Debian community.  Lars Wirzenius <a

de-nominated</a> himself from the upcoming project leader election due to
aspects and parts of the project that he can't emotionally deal with.  In a
former <a href="http://liw.iki.fi/liw/log/2006-02.html#20060206b";>\
article</a> he already investigated the role of the project leader and came to
the conclusion that the important thing is to inspire and not to force.</p>

<p><strong>Aufruf zu Wahlen zum GFDL-Positionspapier.</strong> Manoj
Srivastava <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-vote/2006/02/msg00662.html";>rief</a>
zur <a href="$(HOME)/vote/2006/vote_001">Wahl</a> zum Allgemeinen Beschluss,
der die Position des Debian-Projekts zur <a
href="http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/fdl.html";>GNU Free Documentation
License</a> behandelt. Der Ausgang dieser Wahl werde sich auf die Art und
Weise auswirken, wie das Debian-Projekt unter eben dieser Lizenz
veröffentlichte Dokumentation handhabe. Die Wahl unterscheidet zwischen
Arbeiten mit und solchen ohne invariante Abschnitte.</p>

<p><strong>Call for Votes for the GFDL Position Statement.</strong> Manoj
Srivastava <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-vote/2006/02/msg00662.html";>called</a>
for <a href="$(HOME)/vote/2006/vote_001">votes</a> on a General Resolution to
address the Debian project's position on the <a
href="http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/fdl.html";>GNU Free Documentation
License</a>.  The result of this vote will affect the way the Debian projects
handles documentation released under this particular license.  The vote
distinguishes between works with and without invariant sections.</p>

<p><strong>Die Spiegelaufteilung in die Tat umsetzen.</strong> Anthony Towns <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-mirrors-announce/2006/02/msg00000.html";>\
kündigte an</a>, dass ftp.debian.org bald aufhören werde, eine Anzahl von
Architekturen für Etch (Testing) und Sid (Unstable) zu umfassen. Da die
Gesamtgröße des Archivs derzeit bei 170&nbsp;GB liege, müssten offizielle
Spiegelserver nicht mehr das gesamte Archiv umfassen. Ein spezielles
rsync-Modul erlaube es jedoch den Spiegeladministratoren, das gesamte Archiv
zu spiegeln, wenn sie es möchten.</p>

<p><strong>Implementing the Mirror Split.</strong> Anthony Towns <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-mirrors-announce/2006/02/msg00000.html";>\
announced</a> that ftp.debian.org will soon stop including a number of
architectures for etch (testing) and sid (unstable).  Since the total size of
the archive is currently 170&nbsp;GB official mirrors don't have to include
the entire archive anymore.  A special rsync module allows mirror admins to
mirror the entire archive if they like to, though.</p>

<p><strong>Debian-Projektleiterwahlen 2006.</strong> Manoj Srivastava gab
die Kandidaten zur diesjährigen <a href="$(HOME)/vote/2006/vote_002">Wahl</a>
des Projektleiters <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-vote/2006/02/msg00665.html";>bekannt</a>:
Jeroen van Wolffelaar, Ari Pollak, Steve McIntyre, Anthony Towns, Andreas

Schuldei, Jonathan Walther und Bill Allombert. Die Wahlreden dieser Kandidaten

Unstable, Experimental und Testing zu erstellen, so dass zukünftige

<p><strong>Inclusion of the AMD64 Architecture.</strong> Anthony Towns <a

that various changes have been made to create Packages files in unstable,
experimental and testing to support future amd64 uploads.  In a couple of
weeks when the mirror split transition is over, the <a
href="$(HOME)/ports/amd64/">amd64</a> autobuilder will get all packages
rebuilt.</p>

<p><strong>Wöchentliche Umfragen und sozialer Druck.</strong> Raphaël Hertzog <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-project/2006/02/msg00065.html";>schlug vor</a>,
wöchentliche Umfragen zu verschiedenen Themen &ndash; inklusive sozialer
Probleme &ndash; durchzuführen, die den Listmastern als Grundlage dienen
könnten. Diese Umfragen sollten einen recht guten Überblick über die aktuelle
Stimmungslage im Projekt gewähren. Alberto Gonzalez Iniesta sprach sich
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-project/2006/02/msg00066.html";>\
gegen</a> diese Idee aus, und MJ Ray <a

<p><strong>Weekly Polls and Social Pressure.</strong> Raphaël Hertzog <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-project/2006/02/msg00065.html";>proposed</a>
to run weekly polls on various issues, including social problems, which could
be used as a basis for listmasters.  Those polls should give a pretty good
overview of the current opinion inside the project.  Alberto Gonzalez Iniesta
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-project/2006/02/msg00066.html";>\
opposed</a> this idea and MJ Ray <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-project/2006/02/msg00075.html";>\
considered</a> this a bad idea that will lead to improper decisions.</p>

<p><strong>Richtlinie zum Hochladen durch Nicht-Betreuer.</strong> Mike Hommey
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/01/msg01053.html";>fragte
sich</a>, ob es immer noch guter Brauch sei, den Betreuer vor einem Hochladen
durch Nicht-Betreuer (<abbr lang="en" title="non-maintainer upload">NMU</abbr>)
zu benachrichtigen. Eric Dorland
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/01/msg01056.html";>\
zitierte</a> Andreas Barth und bestätigte, dass Entwickler immer noch über die

<p><strong>Non-Maintainer Upload Policy.</strong> Mike Hommey <a

if it is still good practice to notify the maintainer before doing a
non-maintainer upload.  Eric Dorland <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/01/msg01056.html";>quoted</a>
Andreas Barth and confirmed that developers are still required to notify the
maintainer via the <a href="$(HOME)/Bugs/">bug tracking system</a> before
uploading.</p>

<p><strong>Essenzielle Python-Pakete?</strong> Eric Cooper
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/01/msg01114.html";>\
bemerkte</a>, dass <a href="http://packages.debian.org/python-minimal";>\
python-minimal</a> als ein essenzielles Paket installiert sei. Matthias Klose
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/01/msg01182.html";>\
erklärte</a>, dass dies in Vorbereitung einer späteren Änderung in dem Paket
geschehen sei. Anthony Towns machte dies in der Zwischenzeit
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/01/msg01119.html";>\
#FE: evtl. etwas anderes für »distribution« als »Verteilung«?
rückgängig</a>, da es den Großteil der Python-Verteilung in Debian
nachziehe.</p>

<p><strong>Essential Python Packages?</strong> Eric Cooper <a

that <a href="http://packages.debian.org/python-minimal";>python-minimal</a> is
installed as an essential package.  Matthias Klose <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/01/msg01182.html";>explained</a>
that this was done as preparation for a later change in the package.  Anthony
Towns has <a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/01/msg01119.html";>\
reverted</a> this in the meantime since it drags in most of the python
distribution in Debian.</p>
