<p><strong>Alioth zur Paketierung verwenden.</strong> Raphaël Hertzog <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2006/04/msg00013.html";>\
stellte</a> <a href="http://wiki.debian.org/AliothPackagingProject";>\
Dokumentation</a> über die Betreuung von Debian-Paketen mittels <a

<p><strong>Using Alioth for Packaging.</strong> Raphaël Hertzog <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2006/04/msg00013.html";>\
provided</a> <a href="http://wiki.debian.org/AliothPackagingProject";>\
documentation</a> on maintaining Debian packages via <a
href="http://alioth.debian.org/";>Alioth</a>. For single packages the <a
href="http://alioth.debian.org/projects/collab-maint/";>collab-maint</a>
project is probably sufficient. Maintaining a set of related packages is best
done by a new dedicated project and Subversion configured to send commit
notifications to the package tracking system.</p>
<p><strong>Google <q>Summer of Code</q> 2006.</strong> Google organisiert eine
<a href="http://code.google.com/soc/";>Programmiersommer</a>-Veranstaltung wie
letztes Jahr. Dies ist ein Programm, in dem Google die Erstellung und

whether Debian should participate and set up an Wiki <a
href="http://wiki.debian.org/SummerOfCode2006";>page</a> were ideas for
Debian-related projects are collected. Anthony Towns <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-project/2006/04/msg00282.html";>approved</a>
this and applied for the Debian project.</p>
<p><strong>Debian von Grund auf.</strong> John Goerzen <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/04/msg00633.html";>\
informierte</a> über die Verfügbarkeit einer neuen Veröffentlichung der
<q>Debian From Scratch<q>-<a
href="http://people.debian.org/~jgoerzen/dfs/";>CD</a>. Mit dieser CD ist es
möglich, ein Debian-System in einer Gentoo-Art und Weise zu installieren, indem
die Programme direkt vor der Installation übersetzt werden. Die CD bietet auch
ein voll funktionsfähiges Rettungssystem mit einer Reihe von
Dateisystemwerkzeugen, Backup- und Reparaturhilfsprogrammen,
Verwaltungswerkzeugen und so weiter.

<p><strong>Debian from Scratch.</strong> John Goerzen <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/04/msg00633.html";>informed</a>
about the availability of a new release of the Debian From Scratch <a
href="http://people.debian.org/~jgoerzen/dfs/";>CD</a>. With this CD it is
possible to install a Debian system in a Gentoo fashioned manner by
compiling the programs just before installing them. This CD also offers
a fully functional rescue system with a lot of filesystem tools,
backup and repair utilities, administrative tools and so on.</p>
<p><strong>Upgrade-Konflikt: Kernel und <acronym lang="en"
title="GRand Unified Bootloader">GRUB</acronym>.</strong> Bastian Blank <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2006/04/msg00081.html";>wies</a>
auf erwartete Probleme in Hinblick auf den Kernel und <a
href="http://packages.debian.org/grub";>grub</a> beim Upgrade von <a
href="$(HOME)/releases/sarge/">Sarge</a> auf <a href="$(HOME)/releases/etch/">\
Etch</a> hin, da das neue <a href="http://packages.debian.org/kernel-package";>\

out</a> anticipated problems with regards to the kernel and <a
href="http://packages.debian.org/grub";>grub</a> when upgrading from <a
href="$(HOME)/releases/sarge/">sarge</a> to <a href="$(HOME)/releases/etch/">\
etch</a> since the new <a href="http://packages.debian.org/kernel-package";>\
kernel-package</a> <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2006/04/msg00084.html";>\
utilises</a> <a href="http://packages.debian.org/debconf";>debconf</a> for user
interaction. He asserted that grub needs to be updated before the kernel
image.</p>
<p><strong>Alte Fehlerberichte korrekt schließen.</strong> Adam Majer <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/04/msg00145.html";>\
fragte sich</a>, ob es angemessen sei, alte, korrigierte Fehler mit dem jüngsten
#HK: most recent besser?
Changelog-Eintrag zu schließen, falls sie mit einem älteren Upload bereits
behoben worden seien. Matthew Palmer <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/04/msg00146.html";>\
bestätigte</a>, dass ein Changelog-Eintrag nur die Änderungen und behobenen
Fehler in diesem speziellen Upload dokumentieren solle.

<p><strong>Properly Closing old resolved Bug Reports.</strong> Adam Majer <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/04/msg00145.html";>\
wondered</a> if it is appropriate to close old resolved bugs with the most
recent changelog entry if they were fixed with an older upload already.
Matthew Palmer <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/04/msg00146.html";>\
confirmed</a> that a changelog entry should only document the changes and
resolved bugs in this particular upload.</p>
<p><strong>Mozilla entfernen.</strong> Andreas Metzler <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2006/04/msg00133.html";>\
berichtete</a>, dass die aktuelle Veröffentlichung von Mozilla die letzte sei
und dass es nicht mehr von den Originalautoren unterstützt werde. Daher sollte
es auch aus der Debian-Distribution <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2006/04/msg00151.html";>\
entfernt werden</a>. Die gesamte Funktionalität, die benötigt werde, um Gecko
und Kollegen einzubetten, ist in <a
href="http://packages.debian.org/xulrunner";>xulrunner</a> verschoben worden, von
dem diese Pakete abhängen sollten. Die Schnittstelle sollte sich nicht geändert
haben, so dass die Umstellung recht einfach sein sollte.

<p><strong>Removing Mozilla.</strong> Andreas Metzler <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2006/04/msg00133.html";>\
reported</a> that current release of Mozilla is the last and that it isn't
supported upstream anymore. Hence, it should be <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2006/04/msg00151.html";>\
removed</a> from the Debian distribution as well. All functionality that is
needed to embed gecko and friends has been moved to <a
href="http://packages.debian.org/xulrunner";>xulrunner</a> on which these
packages should depend upon. The interface shouldn't have changed, so that
the conversion should be fairly simple.</p>
#HK: Besser für Bits (sollten wir in Wiki aufnehmen)
<p><strong>Neues vom Projektleiter.</strong> Anthony Towns <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2006/04/msg00015.html";>\
berichtete</a>, dass er Steve McIntyre als <q>Zweiten im Kommando</q>
#HK: Second in Charge besser?
hinzugefügt habe, um einige der regelmäßigen Projektleiterverantwortungen zu
#FE: »regular« hier »regelmäßig« lassen? *amkopfkratz*
teilen. Manoj Srivastava hat sich freundlicherweise bereit erklärt, für ein

<p><strong>Project Leader Bits.</strong> Anthony Towns <a

reported</a> that he has added Steve McIntyre as "Second In Charge" to share
some of the regular project leader responsibilities. Manoj Srivastava has
kindly agreed to continue as project secretary for another year, and is eager
to do some more work on the devotee scripts.</p>
<p><strong>AMD64 zu Etch hinzugefügt.</strong> Anthony Towns <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2006/04/msg00011.html";>\
berichtete</a>, dass die <a href="$(HOME)/ports/amd64/">AMD64</a>-Architektur
zu der <a href="$(HOME)/releases/etch/">Etch</a>-Veröffentlichung hinzugefügt
wurde. In diesem Stadium sollte es möglich sein, diese Architektur von
Grund auf zu bauen, und nur X fehlt. Von jetzt an sind Entwickler mit
AMD64-Maschinen in der Lage, lokal gebaute Pakete hochzuladen. AMD64 ist jetzt

<p><strong>AMD64 added to the Etch.</strong> Anthony Towns <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2006/04/msg00011.html";>\
reported</a> that the <a href="$(HOME)/ports/amd64/">AMD64</a> architecture
has been added to the <a href="$(HOME)/releases/etch/">etch</a> release.
It should be possible to bootstrap this architecture at this point and it
only lacks X. From now on developers with AMD64 machines are able to
upload new versions of their packages built locally. AMD64 is also now
included in the <a href="http://buildd.debian.org/";>buildd</a> <a
href="http://buildd.debian.org/stats/graph-week-big.png";>graphs</a>.</p>
