<p>Welcome to this year's 4th issue of DWN, the weekly newsletter for the
Debian community. The Debian listmasters have decided to <a

revoke</a> posting permission to a developer centric announce list for a
person <a

mails</a> should be sent elsewhere in a rather sarcastic and potentially

<p><strong>Dem Debian-GNOME-Team helfen.</strong> Josselin Mouette <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-gtk-gnome/2006/01/msg00037.html";>bat</a>
um Mithilfe von Benutzern von Debian-GNOME bei der Sichtung der Fehler, um die
große Anzahl an Fehlern zu bereinigen, die derzeit die Fehlerdatenbank
(<abbr lang="en" id="Bug Tracking System">BTS</abbr>) der Pakete des
#HK: to clutter???
GNOME-Teams belegen. Interessenten sollten mittels des <a

<p><strong>Helping the Debian GNOME Team.</strong> Josselin Mouette <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-gtk-gnome/2006/01/msg00037.html";>asked</a>
for help with bug triage from Debian GNOME users in order to clean up the
large number of bugs that currently clutter the BTS on GNOME Team packages.
Interested parties should find packages needing attention using
the <a href="http://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=pkg-gnome-maintainers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx";>\
package tracking system</a>.
He also noted that those familiar with GNOME packages are welcome to
join the team itself.</p>
<p><strong>Debian auf LVM2 auf RAID.</strong> Emidio Planamente schrieb ein
<a href="http://emidio.planamente.ch/pages/linux_howto_root_lvm_raid.php";>\
Dokument</a>, das schildert, wie man Debian <a href="$(HOME)/releases/sarge/">\

kündigte</a> neue kaffe-Pakete an, die
<a href="http://packages.debian.org/gcj";>gcj</a> als Standard-Compiler
verwenden würden, was mit den Originalautoren und anderen Debian-Java-\
Betreuern auf dem <a href="http://meeting.ffis.de/Oldenburg2005/";>Linux-\
Entwicklertreffen</a> in Oldenburg diskutiert worden sei. Dieser

as their default compiler which has been discussed with upstream and other
Debian Java maintainers at the <a

Oldenburg. This <a href="http://wiki.debian.org/Java/KaffeTransition";>\
transition</a> affects about 110 source package of which only five fail to
build and need a little care.</p>
<p><strong>Web-Foren für Debian.</strong> Andreas Schuldei
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-project/2006/01/msg00225.html";>gab
an</a>, dass Debian bezüglich forenbasierter Unterstützungsstrukturen
schwach sei. Steve Langasek
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-project/2006/01/msg00226.html";>\

that most people in the Debian community despise web forums. Michael Banck <a

that Debian should be very careful whether it officially adopts a web
forum as part of its support facilities and that the project will have to be
present and mediate when needed.</p>

<p><strong>Nichtfreie Dinge, die kein Code sind?</strong> In Bezug auf die
aktuelle Diskussion zum kommenden <a href="$(HOME)/vote/2006/vote_001">\
allgemeinen Beschluss</a>

berichtete</a> Gerfried Fuchs über Grafiken in einem freien Paket, die von
nichtfreier Software erzeugt wurden, und über das <a href="$(HOME)/logos/">\

<p><strong>Non-free Non-code?</strong> In light of the current debate on the

reported</a> about graphics in a free package that were rendered by non-free
